Yeah, I was leaning towards CFE 223, if a load existed for it.

Hi Guys,

I've an oddball question.  I'm looking to try pushing some Barnes 36 gr "Varmint Grenade" bullets through the Valkyrie.  Of course, I can't find any load data for the Valk for bullets that light.  There is load data out there for .22 Nosler.  I could probably crack 4,000 fps with these things.  After 300 yds, though they'll drop like a rock.

Would Nosler loads be safe.  I know the case volume between them is fairly close, but I don't want to have any pressure issues if I tried it.

Thanks

Ed

I tend to be partial to Vortex, being a Wisconsin property.  :)

Thanks.  I'll experiment with a 90 or 95.  I figure if I load it fairly hot with Reloader 17, that may do the trick.  Sierra recommended 1:6.5 barrels.   Not sure if there's much difference between that and 1:7.

My barrel and foregrips arrived today.   Disclaimer:  It is from Bear Creek Arsenal, but if it shoots anywhere like the 6.5 Grendel barrel I got from them, I'll be thrilled. I was shooting 1.5" groups at 200 yds with that one the one and only time I tried.

Hi everyone,

New Valkyrie guy from NE WI here.  Almost...

My parts are still being ordered, with a 22" 1:7 barrel on the way.  I figure I'm topped at 80 grains with this one.

Just came on board to search for the best loads.
