Nosler 80 CC
« on: September 09, 2018, 01:35:29 AM »
I went to the range the other day with some 80gr Nos CC's. I hadn't had much luck with my 88's and 90's in my previous outings so I decided to give these a try. The results were a step in the right direction for me. Gave me a little more hope for accuracy.

I also tried some 88's and 90's again with a different powder and got pretty good results.

Very promising, looks like your using h414, isn't that basically the same as win760?

Good shooting in my book

What barrel are you shooting? Do you have any velocities for these loads?

I think H414 was a sleeper powder I asked about when the Hodgdon data got posted.

Seemed to give velocities right up there with CFE223.

Yes I was using H414. I believe 414 and 760 are the same thing. Just like H110 and 296.
I am shooting a Bison Armory 20" 6.5 twist.
I have not chronographed yet. I have a Magnetospeed and did not want to add another variable to accuracy. Hopefully my next trip out I can chrono some loads.

Didnít realize that was another one of the powder combinations Hodgdon did when they acquired Winchester powders.

yep, just like HP-38 and 231. Sometimes one brand will be a couple bucks cheaper which makes no sense but whatever.

I went out on Monday and shot some more 80gr Nos CC. The two loads on top I had  shot on the previous target and the bottom three are loads I didn't get to last time and are the highest I loaded these. All loads were H414.
